Costs

FULL MEMBERSHIP entitles you to attend unlimited classes, potentially a class every day.
Members can choose which classes fit into their schedule best. It is recommended that new
students attend 3 or 4 classes a week, including at least one class a week with Cecelia Sensei.

OPTIONS

  • Monthly $150
  • Quarterly $450
  • Yearly $1,300

GETTING STARTED

We ask for a minimum 2 month commitment to give a the art a chance. $300 plus optional $60 uniform = $360.

FAMILY RATES

The first family member pays full price. All other family members join at half price.

MAT FEES

For aikido students from other dojos visiting us, there is a mat fee of $20 per day. Frequent visitors may purchase a 5 day pass for $60.

STARTER COURSES

When offered, a starter course consisting of 4 classes costs $49.

EQUIPMENT COSTS

Uniforms are not required for beginners. However, most students want to have their own uniform right away. They cost around $60, but are subject to market fluctuations.

PROMOTION TESTS

There are fees associated with rank promotions. These fees are paid to Kokikai Headquarters in Japan, ranks are recorded and certificates generated from there. The costs are nominal for lower ranks and are higher for black belt tests.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Throughout the year Kokikai holds special events, workshops, camps, seminars, etc. Attendance is not required, but enthusiastically encouraged. There are costs associated with these events and vary according to what is offered.

SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY OFFER

FIRST 2 CLASSES FREE

Beginning 1/19/17 Philadelphia Aikido will offer a new children’s class.

Held on Thursdays at 6:30 PM this class will accept students ranging from age 8 to 11. The official children’s instructor will be Anchuing Wang, 3rd degree black belt in Kokikai Aikido, who also instructs adults here as well as at The College of New Jersey.

This class will provide
  • a good foundation for Aikido training
  • philosophy of non-violence through discipline, respect and compassion
  • a positive outlet for physical activity
  • a safe place to learn practical self defense

The cost for this program is $80 per month. To encourage family participation, Philadelphia Aikido offers generous family rates: The first family member pays full price ($115 per month for adults) and subsequent family members pay half price.
